Escape Lesson

Cindy is in the Living Room looking at the clock.  

CINDY

Hope Ricky didn't forgot 'bout the lesson I was goin' to show him today.  

She hears the doorbell ring.  She walks and sees Ricky standing there.  

CINDY

Ricky.  Glad y'all made it.  

RICKY

Sorry I'm late Cindy.  The glasses shop was fixing my glasses and it took a long time.  

CINDY

No worries.  Come on in.  

Cut To

Cindy and Ricky are in the basement.  

CINDY

Ricky remember those stories I done told you 'bout me bein' a hostage and I always git myself free?  

RICKY

Yes.  

CINDY

Well I is goin' to show you how to free yourself in case you git kidnapped.  

RICKY

Really how?  

CINDY

Easy.  I'll show you how I always do it.  I need to tie (hands him the rope) me up.  

RICKY

What?  

CINDY

In order for me to show you I need you tie me up so that you'll see and understand how it's done.  

She turns around and puts her arms behind her back.  

RICKY

Well okay.  

He ties Cindy's arms behind her back.  Cindy sits on the floor and lifts her foot paws.  Ricky ties her ankles together.  She lowers tied ankles.  

RICKY

Are the ropes too tight?  

CINDY

Nope.  You did a good job.  Now watch closely now.  

Ricky watches as he sees Cindy tries to move her tied wrists behind her back.  After she twists her wrists two times, she was able to free her tied hands.  She now grabs the knot on her ankles, pulls it, and gets her foot paws untied.  She stands up.  

RICKY

That was cool.  

CINDY

Much obliged.  Ready to give it a try?  

RICKY

Try?  

CINDY

Yup.  Let's see if you can (grabs the rope) free yourself while tied up.  

RICKY

I don't know about this.  

CINDY

It has to be done Ricky.  You'll do fine.  

RICKY

Okay.  

Cindy ties Ricky's arms behind his back.  Ricky sits down on the floor.  

CINDY

I may have to take yer footwear off.  It's easier for me to tie your ankles.  

RICKY

Go ahead.  

Cindy takes his shoes and socks off and ties his ankles together.  She stands up.  

RICKY

This feels weird.  

CINDY

It does feel that way sometimes but that's the way kidnappers do it.  Oh by the way there's (gags his mouth) no talkin' durin' this lesson.  

Ricky cannot open his mouth.  

CINDY

I know I didn't ask you to do that when you tied me up, but this might happen one day.  Now let's see what you can do.  

Ricky tries moving his arms but he is having a hard time doing it.  He rolls on the floor while struggling to get free.  

CINDY

It is tough to free yourself, but with practice y'all will do great.  

Ricky stops rolling for a minute.  He tries twisting his wrists, but he suddenly feels something brushing against the arch of his paws.  He sees Cindy kneeling in front of tied foot paws and tickling them with a feather.  He laughs through the gag.  

CINDY

Forgot to mention they may tickle your paws while you're tied up.  

She keeps tickling his paws for 10 minutes.  Ricky starts feeling tired after she stops and falls asleep.  Cindy gets up and writes a note and lays it next to Ricky.  

CINDY

I'll just let him rest for a while.  

She takes his shoes and socks and goes upstairs.  

Cut To

Hours later, Ricky opens his eyes and sees he's still bound and gag.  He sees the note from Cindy.  It reads:  

Dear Ricky,

Good job trying to escape on your first attempt.  Right now the escapin' needs works.  No worries you have all night to practice.  Ma and I will check on you in the mornin'.  See you then.
